Altered Recipe Album

How do you go from this...
...to this?!?

With a little help from Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird line, of course! With such a great array of patterned papers, stickers, journaling blocks, and paper borders, this was super easy to whip up! On the inside, I made folders to house loose recipes, and to serve as dividers between the sections. Jenni Bowlin's Reverse Tiny Circle Alpha Stickers in red were the perfect addition for labeling the course.
To make the tabs, I used my scallop punch on the scraps, then folded the circles in half and stapled them to the edges of the folders.

Finally, I added some Maya Road trim and a few buttons to the cover. For the binding, I just used one of quotes from the paper borders to add the title:

Now that I've got this done. maybe keeping all my clipped recipes organized will be that much more fun! Thanks for stopping by!!

Mini-Albums Galore

The first is from Martha's class at Sisiversary. I thought my getting-ready wedding pics deserved a worthy home (all by KAREN HILL PHOTOGRAPHY, btw), and this seemed like the perfect fit!

This is made from file folders, with a really cool button binding, as taught by Amy Tan at this year's Sisiversary crop. Love the way it came out!

We're having a girl AND a boy!! How cool is that? D. and I were giddy to find out that Chloe will be getting a sister and a brother--and of course to find out both babies are developing normally and look totally healthy!

Sisiversary '09...

...was totally fun, and I am so glad I went! I had to pull a few strings to make it all happen, but it was so worth it in the end. First and foremost, meeting online friends in person was fantastic--way better than I could have imagined! Secondly, having SO much time to myself to scrap and get creative was amazing! Here are a bunch of pics I have lifted from various folks--I brought my camera, but didn't take a single photograph--doh! These first 2 pictures are courtesy of the fabulous KristinaK--who also happens to be one of my favorite scrappers and was my roomie as well! The only shot I have of the three roomies together--so glad I got to spend time with these to lovelies!

Me looking rather focused on getting scrappy!

If one of these is yours and you'd like credit, please let me know!
I could try to explain this, but ...

Fun Stuff...

Summer Lovin Crop happenin over a ScrapGal.com! I actually got a lot done :)

This one was for a "scrap about your nickname" challenge, and for a "menu" challenge. I had to use 6x12, b&w, 4 patterned papers, stitching and paint. The nextone was for a challenge to finish up a lo you've had sitting around for a while...this one has been on my table since February!

There's a contest for using My Mind's Eye also happening right now...so I used some patterned papers I had stashed on this layout that was for a scrap your workplace challenge. I also had to use a time card, which I of course forgot until the last minute...but I think it came out ok!

This last one is probably my favorite--the challenge was to use the lyrics from a song called Colors by Kira Willey...I think I could use the lines from this song again and again--you might just see more!
