Technically, it's still fall...

Even though once December hits winter is pretty much here. I had to scrap this back-to-school layout of Chloe using fall colors, I'm just not ready to move on quite yet. The Paper Issues Fitkit for November is called 'Gather' and it's full of fall pretties.

You can link up at Paper Issues for a chance to win some BG goodies right here. And don't forget to use code SUKEYDOOKIEDOO in the shop for 20% off!

It's Basic Grey, Baby

You might not know this about me, but I love Basic Grey. It was my first scrapbooking crush, the first patterned paper that infiltrated my dreams...and still almost 5 years since I began the hobby, I still can't get enough.

Here's a page I made using Basic Grey Clippings:
And another I made using Soleil:

And yet another....
Whoops, and one more:
That last one is BG's newest line, Fact and Fiction...LOVE IT!

Link up your Basic Grey project, or your just plain grey one at Paper Issues--there's some scrappy goodies up for grabs! And if you want to go shopping, don't forget to use my code: SUKEYDOOKIEDOO for 20% off :)

Dream Big.

Here's another layout I made using the September FitKit from Paper Issues, that I am also linking up over at the blog. The theme is "Tag You're It," see my tag tucked under the photo? There's some deep, personal journaling on there, hidden away from prying eyes. That's my favorite way to use tags--what's yours? Link up your tag project, and find out how you can win an amazing tool from craftwell.

Here's another:
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

Oh, hi...

It has been a while, hasn't it?! Well, I'm going to try and be a better blogger, now that the kiddos are all in school--two are in morning preschool three days a week, and the oldest in all day kindergarten --woohoo! I'm trying out a new to me blogging app on the iPad, so bear with me if this looks a little wonky...I'll get the hang of it eventually.

I'm stopping by just to share a layout I made using the September fitkit from Paper Issues. It's full of everyday eclectic yumminess, and I can see merely using every last scrap of it! You should totally go get yourself one. Like now.

See what I mean? Totally fun. I dont know how to do links yet using this app, but you can get to the store by clicking the logo over there <----- in the sidebar. Oh, and don't forget to save 20 percent by using the code sukeydookiedoo. Sweet.

Honeycomb Paper Issues Blog Hop

The new theme is up at Paper Issues, and it's a fun, trendy one *Honeycombs*! Hexagons are everywhere, and so link up your projects with that 6-sided shape, or anything related to Bees--if it's paper it counts! Six of the creative team are having a blog hop, and you can win an awesome kit from Paper Issues:

Go here for information on how to win and to link up your own projects. It's also the first stop on the blog hop, so you may want to start there at the beginning if you're not coming from Holly's Blog.

I made the layout above and this next one using the coral version of the Honeycomb kit Cassie has for sale in the shop. Even the tissue paper she wraps your order in coordinates with the kit--I used it above for the flowers and here for a photo mat:
She also includes some die-cut hexagon shapes, perfect for using as a mask with all those fun mists that you buy and never use--hopefully that's not just me, is it? You can buy this kit AND get an extra 20% off your order at the Paper Issues shop by using the coupon code Sukeydookiedoo when you check out!

Here's my last layout--I used the inner part of the paper I cut out to make the frame in the first layout (waste not want not).

Remember to comment below to be eligible for the prize, and be sure to check out all the awesome Honeycomb-Hexagon inspiration all along the blog hop!

First Birthday Sign

I made this birthday owl to celebrate a very special little girl turning one.
Her mama chose owls for the party's theme (Guess Whooo's Turning One), and I couldn't resist making this guy to hang up during the party. I basically enlarged the owl design from the invitation, and then added the feathers on his chest using my giant scallop punch and kraft cardstock. I was inspired by an owl I spotted on pinterest, here.
I used patterned paper from My Mind's Eye and from a DCWV stack I found in Joanne's. Those are vintage buttons for the eyes, and of course, red glitter thickers and baker's twine for the banner!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day!

These 3 guys made me a mama...and a better person.

I never knew life could be this crazy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!

Go hug a mom today!

Quick Canvas Gift

I made this canvas to hang in my daughter's room, but it could be a gift for anyone! I was inspired by a quote I saw on Pinterest, but I modified it a bit to fit our family better.

It was super quick to upload my jpg file to Easy Canvas Prints, I love that their site is so easy to use!

This second picture show the colors a bit better--it's a great match for the room!

21 April 2012

Here are some simple layouts...

...I made when I was feeling *very* little mojo. I was hoping this yummy AC Chap line was going to inspire me, but looking at these some of these now, I cringe.
I also don't know why fifty percent of my project pictures are coming out of my camera super blurry, while the other fifty percent are fine...but I suspect it may have something to do with a certain 2 year-old who likes to stick his finger into the lens!
You can barely make out the stitching I did on the one above, it took like for-evah, for very little impact. boooo! Look at those twinnies up on the dining room table! We've got some serious monkey-see-monkey-do-itis here in this house!
I do really like the colors in this one. And the picture. And the stickers, which you probably can't read because it's blurry.
I like this one too. But I am totally firing my camera! Look, I used my new Jenni Bowlin punch, those little label tabs on the left. LOVE! And every single picture I have scrapped has been from my phone, and instagrammed as well...I guess we know the reason for that, now don't we? Consider yourself warned, camera!

I just noticed Paper Issues has a kit of Chap goodies up for sale in the shop--go grab it and prove you can make it look way better than I did. And save 20% off with the coupon code  Sukeydookiedoo!

Pretty Party

I can hardly believe it's only a couple of months until Chloe is turning five! We just received confirmation that she'll be going to our neighborhood schoool, the same one D. attended growing up. Kindergarten! It's a whole new chapter.

But I want to remember the cute little baby that stole my heart almost 5 years ago, and what better way than a mini album commemorating each of her birthdays!?

I used a fantastic mini-kit from Paper Issues, which includes Crate Paper Pretty Party Accent Cuts, baker's twine, seam binding, trinket pins and clothes pins.
All held together on the super cute 7-Gypsies ATC holder, I love the way it looks out for display!
I added some Pink Paislee's Soiree embellishments, Sassafrass chipboard, vintage book pages, and vellum.

It's so fun looking back at these pictures of my girl on each of her birthdays! I included pages so that  I'll be able to include her upcoming birthdays as well  :)

Simply Smashing

Long time, no blog...I have been gone a while, but have been busy and have lots to share. Today I am excited to show you a project that's been a little while coming--our Vacation Smash Book! Back in February we took our first-family-of-five vacation (other than up to the lake, which while it is a fun time away, for some reason doesn't have the chillin' on vaca vibe to it) It felt like quite an accomplishment, and I am proud that we wrangles all 3 kiddos on an airplane and through customs etc. etc. etc.

The Mini Smash book seemed like an ideal travel journal, although to be honest I only completed 2 pages or so while on the actual trip...It was the first time I tried scrapping on the road, and the challenge of not having the actual pictures in front of me proved to be too much. Having the book with me, however, was a helpful reminder to collect memorabilia and make note of some details which are easy to lose track of with 3 little ones.

Washi tape seemed like the obvious choice for the cover. That teeny flower embellishment shouldn't be there, and I'll probably add a title...
I used lots of Instagrams...what can I say--I'm addicted!
That's most of the pages, a few were pretty text-heavy so a little less interesting in photographs. I used lots of random stickers, these mini pockets, tape, twine, and doo-dads.

I'm linking up at Paper Issues Smash Party-- there's tons more Smash inspiration, and even a giveaway!

Don't have a Smash book? Make your own! Or go buy one--and don't forget to use the code Sukeydookiedoo for 20% off!!
